Everton star Wayne Rooney is reportedly wanted by DC United in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Toffees want to get the former Manchester United star off their books due to his high wage.
The former England international, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, is reportedly earning £180,000 per week as salary at the moment, with United claimed to be paying him £120,000 per week as well.
According to The Mirror, if Rooney leaves for Major League Soccer outfit DC United in the summer transfer window, then Everton will save another £9 million in salary.

Rooney started his professional club football career at Everton, and the Englishman did not exactly do badly for the Merseyside outfit during the 2017-18 campaign.
The former England international scored 10 goals and providing two assists in 27 Premier League starts for the Toffees this season following his move in the summer of 2017 after leaving United.
Although Rooney is 32 years of age now, he can still do a good job for Everton in the Premier League next season.
