Everton manager Marco Silva is reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig Emil Forsberg this summer as the Swedish attacker continues to impress at the World Cup -and The Toffees could have use a potential trump card in their bid to land the star.

Italian outlet CalcioMercato report that Everton are interested in signing 26-year-old Forsberg this summer, just days after the Daily Express carried claims that Merseyside rivals Liverpool were keen.

Forsberg is currently with Sweden at the World Cup, helping the Swedes beat South Korea before narrowly losing 2-1 to Germany as Toni Kroos scored a last-minute winner.

Playing out wide for his country, Forsberg is most-renowned for his versatility in attack. He can play out wide, in the number 10 role and even up front, as well as being used in central midfield.

Forsberg first came onto the radar during Leipzig’s second-placed finish of 2016-17 alongside the likes of Naby Keita and Timo Werner, when he scored eight goals and laid on 22 assists.

Now, Everton are keen to land Forsberg despite a not-so-impressive 2017-18 season, and The Toffees could push through a deal by including trump card Ademola Lookman.

Speed machine Lookman joined Leipzig on loan until the end of the season in January, scoring five goals and laying on four assists during his 11 league and cup appearances.

Leipzig have made it no secret that they would like to keep the 20-year-old England youth international, so including him a deal to sign Forsberg would surely interest all parties involved.

Forsberg’s form of just five goals last season for Leipzig will surely see the German club prefer Lookman – but it all depends on whether Marco Silva and Marcel Brands want to keep Lookman.

But Everton would surely be able to land Forsberg if they included Lookman in a deal.
