Everton are confident of signing Rachid Ghezzal in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

Ghezzal has been on the books of Lyon since 2012 and has a contract with the French club until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

It has been reported by The Sun that Everton are convinced that they are going to sign the 24-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.

“Europa League semi-finalists Lyon want to keep him but the Toffees will offer much better wages to join them in the Prem,” adds the report in the British tabloid.

Ghezzal is a very good winger, and he would be a good signing for Everton, especially if he arrives at Goodison Park on a free transfer.

The Algeria international has scored two goals and created 23 chances in 21 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon so far this season.

The 24-year-old has created eight chances in four appearances for Lyon so far this campaign.

One potential problem that Everton could face in signing Ghezzal in the summer transfer window is if Lyon win the Europa League.

Bruno Genesio’s side will face Ajax in the semi-finals of the European competition. If Lyon do go all the way, then they will feature in the 2017-18 Champions League campaign.

Everton could play in the Europa League next season, but the Toffees could still find it tough to convince Ghezzal to leave a club in the Champions League.
