Everton have received a boost in their pursuit to sign Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom.

The Toffees have already struck deals for Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam, while Jack Harrison also rejoined the club on loan from Leeds United.

But Sean Dyche’s side are showing no signs of slowing down in the transfer market despite their recent takeover blow.

Takeover talks with Roma owner Dan Friedkin collapsed but Everton’s stance on selling Jarrad Branthwaite has not been affected.

Everton have now turned their attention towards Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrom and HITC revealed last week that they are closing in on an initial loan deal.

Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford were all keen on Lindstrom but Everton appear to be in pole position.

Napoli identify Jesper Lindstrom replacement

It is a tell-tale sign that a club is preparing for a sale if they suddenly become linked with a player of the same position.

That is precisely the case with Napoli, who have reportedly shown an interest in Benfica winger David Neres.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Napoli, Neres is open to a move amid interest from Napoli, but Benfica want a fee of at least 40million Euros (£34million) to sell him.

Napoli’s interest in Neres should put a smile on the faces of Everton fans as it suggests that they are preparing to part ways with Lindstrom.

The Danish winger – who can also play in an attacking midfield role – has struggled to settle at Napoli after arriving for a £25million fee.
