Marco Silva updated the media about his side’s injury concerns and gave Everton fans some good news ahead of their trip to Turf Moor.

Marco Silva, Manager of Everton looks on prior to the Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and Everton FC at Vitality Stadium on September 15, 2019 in Bournemouth, United Kingdom.

Everton boss Marco Silva spoke to the club’s official website regarding the fitness of Theo Walcott, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin ahead of their game against Burnley this weekend.

The Toffees are in desperate need of a win in the Premier League after losing each of their last three games. Silva is under enormous pressure to get a positive result this weekend when they take on a Burnley side who have looked good since the start of the season.

The Everton boss will need all the help he can get at this stage and thankfully for him he has positive news regarding three of his important players. Silva revealed that Andre Gomes and Theo Walcott are both available for the clash against the Clarets while summer signing Jean-Philippe Gbamin has returned to training.

Gomes, who made his loan move from Barcelona permanent this summer, suffered a rib injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers early last month. The Portuguese midfielder’s creativity has been a big miss for Everton, especially with Gylfi Sigurdsson also struggling with form.

Walcott started last weekend’s game against Manchester City but was struck in the head in the very first minute. The former Arsenal man was stretchered off with fear of a concussion but Silva revealed that he is available for selection for the game this weekend.

Summer signing Gbamin has been out of action due to a hamstring injury he suffered after the first two games. The 24-year-old was signed to replace Idrissa Gueye but he will have to wait a while longer to completely recover from his injury.

Silva said about the Ivorian: “We saw him for the first time this morning on the pitch doing individual work with Bruno [Mendes, Head of Performance].

“Let’s see over the next few days how he’ll react. It’s step by step to see but it was a good sign for us to see him on the pitch with his teammates and starting to run. Even if it was individual work, it’s still a good step.”

With Gomes and Walcott back in action, Everton should be confident of a good result but with the Premier League as competitive as ever, it will not be easy against a Burnley side who are unbeaten in their last three league games.
