Everton are on the verge of signing Nathan Patterson from Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers in the January transfer window, according to BBC Sport.

The report has claimed that Everton are optimistic of getting a £10 million deal done for Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson.

It would be a record transfer fee for Rangers, who won the Scottish Premiership title last season.

Everton manager Rafael Benitez wanted to sign Patterson in the summer of 2021 and made a bid.

However, Rangers, then managed by Steven Gerrard, turned it down.

Nathan Patterson to leave Rangers for Everton

In our view, leaving Rangers for Everton could work out well for Nathan Patterson.

Yes, Rangers are a massive club, but Everton are well established in the Premier League and are very ambitious.

Nathan Patterson is only 20, which means that the Toffees will allow him time and show him patience to grow and improve.

Gerrard, now the manager of Aston Villa, described Patterson as “exciting” in The National in April 2021.

Given how Kieran Tierney is doing for Arsenal after joining from Celtic, we think that Patterson could be yet another Scottish success story in the Premier League.
