Everton have rejected a bid for Rangers target Asmir Begovic – but the offer has come from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr rather than from Ibrox.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that Everton have turned down Al-Nassr’s first offer for the Bosnian goalkeeper.
Begovic is out of contract this summer but Everton have still decided to reject the offer.
Al Nassr are expected to come back in with a new bid for Begovic very soon as they continue to push for his signature.
That’s a major warning for Rangers, who now risk missing out on Begovic to a money-spinning switch to Saudi Arabia.

Asmir Begovic isn’t what Rangers need
TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook reported in December that Rangers have a real interest in signing Begovic.
Crook suggested that Rangers wanted a summer deal for Begovic rather than a January move, with his contract at Goodison Park running down.
Yet it’s reasonable suggest that Rangers should be looking at a much younger option between the sticks.
Allan McGregor turns 41 later this month and backup Jon McLaughlin – who seemingly won’t be the future successor – is 35.
Begovic turns 36 this summer and Rangers need to stop putting plasters on this goalkeeping situation, hoping that short-term solutions will be fine.
It’s time for Rangers to go and find their goalkeeper for years to come, and Begovic just doesn’t fit that bill at all.
We would advise Rangers to stay out of this transfer race and allow Begovic to make the move to Saudi Arabia.
Rangers want to see Ross Wilson with a plan moving forward, not just giving one-year deals to McGregor until he retires and then signing a player of a similar age.
Michael Beale would no doubt love a goalkeeper with real confidence on the ball and we just don’t see how Begovic can be the answer to Rangers’ goalkeeping situation as another short-term signing.
