Everton are seriously considering a move to make Ralph Hasenhuttl their new manager with his Premier League experience a key factor.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that Marcelo Bielsa is the top target for Farhad Moshiri at Everton.
Yet with that deal seemingly very difficult, Everton need to have alternatives in mind.
One of the names in the frame is Hasenhuttl, who is claimed to be a ‘serious contender’ for the Everton job.
It’s stated that Hasenhuttl’s Premier League experience is a key factor in Everton’s interest in the Austrian.
There haven’t been many names linked with the Everton job that don’t have Premier League experience; only Marcelino springs to mind in that regard.
Still, Everton appear to value Hasenhuttl’s time in the Premier League, especially given that he has experience of relegation battles.

Who is Everton target Ralph Hasenhuttl?
Hasenhuttl had a decent playing career as a striker, scoring for the likes of Austria Wien, Austria Salzburg, Mechelen, Lierse and Koln.
Hasenhuttl actually finished his playing career with Bayern Munich’s second team and managed to pick up eight caps for Austria.
SpVgg Unterhaching gave Hsenhuttl his fairly modest start to management down in the third tier of German football.
Despite winning 45% of his games, Hasenhuttl was sacked in 2010 and moved on to VfR Aalen, spending two-and-a-half years there.
Hasenhuttl really started to make strides with FC Ingolstadt, taking them from bottom of the second tier to the Bundesliga inside 18 months.
RB Leipzig pounced to land Hasenhuttl as their first Bundesliga manager in 2016, and he guided them to a second-place finish in his first season before leaving after a sixth-placed finish in 2018.
Southampton swooped in jut a few months later, and Hasenhuttl had the longest spell of his career with the Saints, lasting nearly four years.
Hasenhuttl consistently kept Southampton in the Premier League but results earlier this season were concerning, leading to the Saints making a change.
Branded the ‘Alpine Klopp’ in comparison to the Liverpool boss, Hasenhuttl largely did well at Southampton in testing circumstances – and that’s what Everton need right now.
Hasenhuttl is an emotionally-charged manager though and whether he is ready to return to Premier League management just two months after leaving Southampton remains to be seen.
