Everton are absolutely flying along and thumped West Ham 4-1 in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
No matter which combination of players Carlo Ancelotti puts out, the Toffees seem capable of carrying a goal threat.
That will be tested slightly more against Brighton as injuries hit in that midweek win.
Graeme Potter’s side have been playing well without getting the results of late, and this one could be end-to-end.
In goal, Jordan Pickford will continue as he looks to take some form into the international break.
Ancelotti’s back four almost picks itself, with Lucas Digne likely reverting to left back after playing centrally in midweek.
Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and skipper Seamus Coleman will all hope to play but Ancelotti has questions to answer in midfield.
As per the Liverpool Echo, he confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Allan and Andre Gomes won’t be fit.
Gary Lineker: A big success on and off the pitch
- Gary Lineker enjoyed a prolific club career
Lineker featured for Leicester City, Everton and Tottenham during his two spells in English football. He won the FA Cup with Spurs in 1991.
- Nou Camp marksman
Lineker is one of the few Englishmen to star for Barcelona. He won the Copa del Rey and Cup Winner’s Cup, scoring more than 50 goals in three seasons.
- Golden Boot winner
Lineker famously won the Golden Boot for England at the 1986 World Cup, scoring six goals. He netted 48 goals in 80 international games, third only to Sir Bobby Charlton and Wayne Rooney.
- Top television host
Lineker presents BBC’s Match of the Day and BT Sport’s football coverage. He is also recognisable as the face of Walker’s Crisps.
We’ve got £22 million man Gomes replaced by Gylfi Sigurdsson, after the experienced Icelander played a creative role in midweek.
Replacing Allan’s ‘quality’ at the back of midfield will be more difficult and it’s a straight fight between Fabian Delph and Tom Davies most likely.
The front three will likely be deployed again, although Ancelotti did say Richarlison will face a late fitness check before the game.
