Everton will kick off their Premier League season with a trip to face Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
2020/21 is Carlo Ancelotti’s first full season in charge at Goodison Park and he has been backed in the transfer market.
James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all arrived to offer much-needed reinforcements to Everton’s midfield.
But how many of them will be involved against Jose Mourinho’s side?
Ancelotti played his usual 4-4-2 system for last season’s corresponding fixture in July.
That was an exceptionally drab encounter, but Everton did largely keep Tottenham quiet, so the Italian may go with a similar tactical setup.
As per the Liverpool Echo, Ancelotti offered an injury update on four players yesterday.
“I think that Holgate is out, Mina is available to play and Gomes is available.
“We are going to check Delph tomorrow and elsewhere I think the condition of the team is quite good. I am pretty satisfied with the physical condition of the squad.”

Those comments make it most likely Mina will partner Michael Keane at the back, between Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman at full back. Jordan Pickford should start in goal.
How many midfield new recruits will start? We’ve got Allan in alongside fit-again Gomes, given he’s had more time to train than Doucoure.
Everton fans would love to see James from the start, and we’ve slotted him in on the right here.
It looks a fight between Alex Iwobi, Bernard and Anthony Gordon on the left. We’ve put the young academy graduate in, but Iwobi did play last season’s fixture.
Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are expected to start the season up front, but they will hope to get more opportunities on Sunday than they did during July’s 1-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
