It has been a perfect start to the season for Everton with three wins from three and nine goals scored.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will be looking to make it four from four as he comes up against Joey Barton’s Fleetwood side in the EFL Cup tonight.

A tie against West Ham lies in wait for the winners of this one, after they thumped Hull 5-1 last night.

This team will likely look similar to the one which dispatched Salford in the previous round, and we’ve got nine changes from the weekend 5-2 thumping of West Brom.

The only two survivors from that one look set to be Michael Keane and Yerry Mina at centre half.

Jarred Branthwaite played against Salford but suffered an injury which will keep him out for weeks. Lewis Gibson has just joined Reading on loan, or would have been an option.

Joao Virginia has just signed a new four-year deal at the club and should celebrate with an appearance in goal.

Jonjoe Kenny is likely to play at right back, with summer signing Niels Nkounkou on the left of defence.

On why he joined Everton, Nkounkou told the club’s website: “Carlo has seen fit to put a lot of faith in me and other younger players.

“I was conscious of the opportunities Everton have given to other young players if they worked hard and showed they could help the first team.”

We’ve got the front six down as being the same as against Salford, which means £45 million (BBC) Gylfi Sigurdsson likely captaining the side again, having found the back of the net in that match.

It should be another chance to shine for Anthony Gordon and an opportunity for Moise Kean to build on his late strike in the previous round.
