Premier League duo Everton and Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in Djene Dakonam & Alexis Claude-Maurice.

Everton will be backing themselves to finish above Arsenal next season, given the fact that Marco Silva’s side are looking to show ambition in the summer transfer market, whilst there is still uncertainty surrounding the Gunners.
Football.London have claimed that Everton are in the race to sign Lorient winger Alexis Claude-Maurice, whilst Soccer Link claims that he wants to move to Arsenal.
Added with that, The Sun are reporting that the Toffees are looking at Getafe defender Djene Dakonam, with Arsenal boss Unai Emery claiming that their Premier League rivals will beat them to the signature of the £30 million man.
If the Merseyside club are able to snap up the talented duo this summer, especially ahead of the teams such as Arsenal who are in Europe, then it’ll show that they mean serious business for next season.
Both Silva and Emery were in their first seasons in charge at Goodison Park and the Emirates during the recently concluded campaign, with the duo, in the end, doing reasonably good jobs.
But there is no doubt that they need more spice, depth and in Arsenal’s case a serious clear out if they are to progress next season.

Arsenal will be competing in the Europa League final next season and will want to push for a top-four finish. And whilst it will be very difficult, Everton will want to do the same, but they’ll back themselves of realistically finishing in the top-six come the end of the campaign.
Signing Lorient forward Claude-Maurice, who scored 14 goals last season [transfermarkt] and Getafe’s Djene won’t exactly ensure European football, but it’ll certainly keep them on the right path.
Silva needs more bite, more legs and more competition in his squad for next season. And if he can beat his rivals to the above signings then it’ll help him bring consistency to Goodison Park, which will make them a very dangerous prospect.
