Everton took an absolute hammering in what could possibly be Goodison Park’s last European fixture for a while. Atalanta came to town and won 1-5, but how did the Toffees do?

Joel Robles of Everton reacts during the UEFA Europa League group E match between Everton FC and Atalanta at Goodison Park on November 23, 2017 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Goalkeeper: Joel – 5/10

Was overly aggressive on Atalanta’s opener but redeemed himself with a sensational double save from Atalanta’s penalty. Made more crucial stops too but then folded by allowing a shot straight through him for Atalanta’s 4th goal.

Right-back: Jonjoe Kenny – 6/10

Got forward well but his end product was consistently poor. Excellent clearance off the line late in the second half.

Centre-back: Ashley Williams – 2/10

Couldn’t clear Castagne’s cross, allowing Atalanta to score. Got caught out of position and committed a reckless tackle to concede a penalty. Got humiliated for the fifth and final goal. Everton’s worst player on a terrible night.

Centre-back: Michael Keane – 3/10

Got put on skates by Castagne for Atalanta’s opener. Struggled all night long.

Left-back: Cuco Martina – 3/10

Pulled absurdly out of position for Atalanta’s first. Offered precious little in attack or defence.

Defensive midfield: Beni Baningame – 7/10

Defended really well, his positional sense and defensive instincts are tremendous.

Central midfield: Tom Davies – 6/10

A ceaseless bundle of energy. Always tried to get Everton moving forward.

Attacking midfield: Wayne Rooney – 4/10

Plays so much older than he actually is.

Right-wing: Kevin Mirallas – 5/10

Missed a great chance on the half-hour. Mostly ineffective but fine run and pass for Sandro’s goal.

Left-wing: Davy Klaasen – 3/10

Anonymous and ineffective. What a terrible signing he has been for Everton.

Striker: Sandro – 6/10

Completely mis-hit a sitter in the first half. Didn’t play well, really. Looked devoid of confidence until he rattled in a superb consolation effort.

Nikola Vlasic: – 5/10

Came on for Klaasen after 62 minutes. Looked lively and made a good case for starting regularly for Everton.

Morgan Feeney: – 3/10

Came on for Kenny after 70 minutes. A nice moment but was out of his depth and got destroyed for the 4th goal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin: – n/a

Came on for Mirallas after 78 minutes. Got booked.
