Everton are a club on the rise, and have made some superb additions over the past two transfer windows.
Everton’s Morgan Schneiderlin
Toffees midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin shared his hopes of forming the Premier League’s best central midfield partnership with Idrissa Gueye, when speaking during a live Q&A session for the club’s official Facebook account, highlighting how much talent the Senegal international has.
Ronald Koeman’s men are currently sitting comfortably in seventh position in the Premier League table, and they still harbour ambitions of forcing their way inside the top six.
The 27-year-old Frenchman has made an immediate impact at Goodison Park, following his move from Manchester United in January, and has been integral to the Blues’ resurgence.
And he spoke during a live Q&A session for Everton’s official Facebook account, responding to a question asking if he and Gueye can form the best central midfield partnership in the league:
Everton’s Idrissa Gueye celebrates
“That’s our aim. For the first two games together against Middlesbrough and Sunderland we felt good together. He wants to get the ball back and he wants to link up the play and I like that. He’s a very good player who has everything and I’m relishing playing alongside him.”
Although the Toffees pair have a long way to go before they can even be included in discussions concerning the league’s best midfield partnerships, they have certainly already shown what they are capable of when playing in tandem.
And for Everton to have any chance of forcing their way into contention for the Champions League spots over the next few years, they will have to elevate their performance levels even further still.
