Everton are reportedly back in the hunt for Boubakary Soumare.

Everton will be in the market for more signings this summer, with Marcel Brands set to enter his second summer transfer window with the Toffees.

Bringing in talented young players with major potential appears to be Everton’s plan for the summer, and they’ve been linked with a talented prospect.

La Voix Du Nord claim that Everton have joined the race for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, who has been tipped for a huge future in France.

The Liverpool Echo reported in January 2018 that Soumare – dubbed ‘the new Pogba’ – was on Steve Walsh’s radar at Everton, but Brands now appears to be keen too.

Soumare, 20, is also wanted by Tottenham according to Foot Mercato, and Everton swooping in to beat Spurs to his signature would be a real coup.

The midfielder has made just five first-team appearances this summer, but has huge potential as well as real ability on the ball and the engine to get up and down the pitch.

Formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, Soumare is a regular for France at youth level, and he’d be able to sit behind Idrissa Gueye before eventually stepping up into the Everton midfield for years to come.

With Spurs famous for being somewhat slow in the transfer market, Everton should be looking to move quickly to secure Soumare – one of the top young talents in French football – in what would be a real success given Tottenham’s Champions League status.
