Everton-owned Matthew Pennington sends message to Ipswich Town fans

Everton-owned Matthew Pennington has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for Ipswich Town.

Pennington, who spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Leeds United, moved to Championship club Ipswich from Premier League side Everton on transfer deadline day.

The 23-year-old central defender will stay at Portman Road on loan for the 2018-19 season.

The former England Under-19 international made his debut for Ipswich against Norwich at Portman Road in the Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Pennington played well in the 1-1 draw, and the Everton-owned defender has taken to Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for Ipswich this past weekend, and he has also been impressed with the home fans.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts Ipswich had 45% of the possession, took 19 shots of which six were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Norwich had 55% of the possession, took 11 shots of which two were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
