The Everton-owned defender is out of contract this summer.

Ashley Williams of Everton look dejected after the Premier League match between Arsenal and Everton at Emirates Stadium on February 3, 2018 in London, England.

Everton defender Ashley Williams has told The Daily Mail that he hasn’t made a decision about his future yet.

Williams is out of contract at Everton this summer and has spent the season on loan at Stoke City, though the big centre-back has fallen out of favour in recent months.

The Wales international will be 35 by the time next season begins.

“There have been no conversations yet. I’ll sort to my own future at the end of the season. It is like any other summer where you have to make decisions,” he told The Daily Mail.

“I’m in a position now where I’m out of contract and I’ve been on loan at Stoke, we’ll have to decide what I’m going to do. I think it would be a little bit disrespectful, in my opinion, to Stoke, to start looking into that before the loan that we agreed was up. I’ll finish the season then see where we are at.”

The fact that Williams hasn’t retired from international duty might suggest that hanging up his boots in general isn’t on his mind.

He might be 35 in August, but he still has the experience and talent to be an asset for Championship clubs, though it seems clear that his time as a Premier League player is done.

But he was already over 30 when the move came and, well, he wasn’t a roaring success with the Toffees.

Williams, who hasn’t started a game for Stoke since February 2, played 60 Premier League games for the Merseysiders, scoring twice.
