Everton and West Bromwich Albion are said to be chasing Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Stuart Pearce has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 23rd December, that he believes Everton have an advantage over West Bromwich Albion in the race for Morgan Schneiderlin.
Everton and West Brom are both keen on signing the Manchester United midfielder in the January transfer, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
And when asked which team Schneiderlin should pick out of Everton or West Brom, Pearce said: “On the face of it, you would say Everton would have more aspirations to finish higher in the league.
“But from what we can gather from Tony there, it looks like West Brom will up the ante in an attempt to make sure they keep themselves in the top half of the Premier League.
“I think having worked with the manager before, it might edge it in Everton’s direction.”
Schneiderlin worked with Koeman at Southampton, and the French midfielder thrived under the current Everton boss.
The 27-year-old arguably had the best season of his career working under Koeman’s stewardship, meaning a reunion could be tempting.
Schneiderlin has struggled to break into United’s first-team since Jose Mourinho took charge, and United are now said to be willing to cash in.
As things stand, Everton are in ninth place in the Premier League table, while West Brom are in eighth position.
