Everton have attempted a late move for Olivier Giroud but the AC Milan striker isn’t interested in a move to Goodison Park.
That’s according to Calciomercato in Italy, who claim that Everton came calling for Giroud ahead of deadline day.
It’s stated that Everton offered Giroud a deal worth €3.5million (£3.1million) until the end of the season.
Everton were even willing to give him a €2million (£1.75million) bonus if he helped the Toffees stay in the Premier League.
Giroud would then earn €8.4million-a-year – around £140,000-a-week – in the top flight.
However, Giroud wasn’t interested and refused Everton’s offer, meaning the Toffees didn’t even try negotiating with Milan.
Giroud may end up signing a new deal with Milan with his future at the San Siro still unclear despite Everton failing to sign him.

The Toffees have been desperately trying to sign new attacking talent on deadline day having sold Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United.
Yet at every turn, Everton have been met rejection after rejection, whether it’s clubs rejecting bids or players snubbing the move to Goodison Park.
Names like Michy Batshuayi, Ismaila Sarr, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Beto and Viktor Gyokeres have all been linked – but no deals have been done.
A move for a World Cup winner like Giroud was always going to be difficult, even in the twilight of his career.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker probably doesn’t fancy a relegation battle when he has Champions League action to look forward to with Milan.
Everton tried and failed, but it’s now looking like they will completely miss out on a new striker before the deadline with Giroud’s snub just adding to the pain on the final day of the window.
