Everton saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin bag the winner against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and still have Moise Kean to develop.

However, they were linked with another striker over the weekend, as Koln hitman Jhon Cordoba allegedly became a target.

Bild reported that Everton were looking to lure Cordoba to Goodison Park, after he rejected a new deal at Koln.

Cordoba is a little more experienced than Calvert-Lewin and Kean at 27, and has been praised for his powerful style as something of a target man.

Last season, Cordoba hit 12 goals in 26 games for Koln, making himself a wanted man – but he won’t be heading to Everton.

Hertha Berlin have this evening confirmed the signing of Cordoba, handing him a long-term deal in the German capital.

Cordoba could have linked up with fellow Colombian James Rodriguez at Everton, and Cordoba actually praised the playmaker earlier this year when speaking to ESPN, branding him a ‘very good player’.

That now won’t be happening with Cordoba’s move to Hertha confirmed, and Everton will have to look elsewhere if they want a new striker.
