Everton are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike on loan this summer.

That is according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi.

PSG only signed Hugo Ekitike from Reims last summer, but the 21-year-old did not feature much for the French giants in the previous season.

In total, he made just 12 Ligue 1 starts, so a loan move could be good for him, with Goodison Park being a possible destination for the youngster.

Ekitike does not appear to be the only forward Everton are looking at, though. Genuardi has claimed that the Toffees also have Leicester City’s Patson Daka and Southampton’s Che Adams on their radar.

Hugo Ekitike could be an exciting signing for Everton

Ekitike is the sort of forward Everton fans would probably welcome to Goodison Park.

He is someone who is young and has shown a lot of potential. Back in the 2021/22 season, the striker scored 10 goals in 24 Ligue 1 appearances. It is quite a good return for such a young player.

It is not hard to understand why his former manager Oscar Garcia once said: “There is something very special about him.”

At PSG, it was always going to be difficult to show that straight away. After all, he was competing against Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar for a spot in the French team’s attack.

All in all, Ekitike could do with a loan move. Sean Dyche, however, may have some concerns about his lack of experience.

This is not the time for the Merseyside club to be gambling. They did not score enough goals last term, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin not managing to stay fit, while Neal Maupay’s switch from the Amex Stadium to Goodison Park has not been a successful one. The Frenchman was only able to find the back of the net once in the Premier League.
