Everton are showing an interest in Ajax forward Chuba Akpom just a matter of months after his surprise move to the Netherlands.
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom could make a return to English football with Everton now interested.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Akpom is attracting major interest ahead of the January transfer window.
Akpom came up in the Arsenal ranks but only managed four league appearances for the Gunners.
Akpom was sold to Greek side PAOK for just £2million in 2018, where he scored 14 times in 54 league games to earn himself a return to England with Middlesbrough.
The 28-year-old scored just five times in his first season at Boro and then returned to PAOK on loan, seemingly struggling to make an impact on Teesside.
Akpom turned things around last season though, hitting 28 goals in 40 games under Michael Carrick to earn himself a huge £12million move to Ajax.
Everton interested in signing Chuba Akpom
Akpom endured a slow start to life in Amsterdam but has now scored five times in his last four games, beginning to make a big impact at Ajax.
Now in red-hot form, Akpom is suddenly attracting Premier League interest.
TEAMtalk suggest that Everton are interested in signing Akpom, alongside the promoted trio of Burnley, Luton Town and Sheffield United.

London clubs Crystal Palace and Fulham also want Akpom, with a January loan deal suggested as a real possibility.
Ajax letting Akpom leave on loan would be a little strange given his form at the moment but a return to England – and a Premier League chance – could appeal to the striker.
Everton invested in Beto and Youssef Chermiti over the summer but still need more goals in order to stay up.
Akpom could be one solution for Everton, especially as he excelled as a number 10 for Middlesbrough last season and could be versatile attacking weapon for Sean Dyche.
