According to Bild, Everton are interested in a move for Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller this summer.
Muller has been one of the most loyal players in modern football. He’s been at the top of the game for well over a decade, but he’s never left Bayern Munich.
However, the Toffees may now test his resolve, and perhaps they have a better chance of landing him than many may imagine.
Indeed, while a move to Everton would undoubtedly be a step down for the World Cup winner, the German’s appreciation of Frank Lampard may make this an intriguing proposition.
What’s Muller said about Lampard?
The Bayern star was full of praise for Lampard when speaking to The Athletic.
“He was a super player. He played practical football. Technically very good, super shooting technique, super with long balls — a midfielder who could work and be dangerous in front of goal at the same time. He simply knew: these are the things you need to do to win football matches. He was a player I can really relate to,” Muller said.

Coup
This would be an absolutely massive coup of Everton could pull it off.
Of course, it’s unlikely. Muller remains a key player in Bavaria and he’s never shown any sign of wanting to leave Munich, but the German’s appreciation of Lampard could be a slight temptation.
Muller owes Lampard a bit of a favour as well, The Everton boss was famously robbed of a goal against Muller’s Germany back in 2010, while a young Muller was busy netting a brace against the Three Lions.
