Sean Dyche’s Everton are reportedly trying to sign Maxwel Cornet from David Moyes’s West Ham United.
According to journalist Ignazio Genuardi on Twitter, Everton are interested in signing Maxwel Cornet from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Genuardi has claimed that West Ham are pushing Cornet towards the exit.
Everton are now in discussions with the Hammers over a potential deal for the 26-year-old winger, according to the reporter.
Genuardi wrote on Twitter, as translated from French to English: “Pushed towards the exit by West Ham, the former Messin and Lyonnais #Cornet can notably count on the interest of another Premier League team: #Everton . Ongoing discussions. #Mercato.”
The Telegraph has reported that Everton want to sign Cornet on a season-long loan deal.
Everton manager Sean Dyche reportedly wants to bring in the £65,000-a-week (Spotrac) Ivory Coast international as a potential replacement for Demarai Gray, who has interest from clubs in the Premier League and in the Saudi Pro League.
Everton should not sign Maxwel Cornet from West Ham United
We do not think Everton should sign Maxwel Cornet from West Ham United in the final days of the summer transfer window.
The Telegraph has claimed that the Toffees wanted to sign the Ivory Coast international before he joined West Ham.

We do not think that Cornet has done enough at the Hammers to suggest that he could be a big success in the Premier League and took the opposition players by surprise.
True, Cornet did relatively well at Burnley, but that could have been just because he has just arrived in the Premier League.
Yes, there have been injury concerns, but that the Hammers are willing to offload him now suggests that he has not fully convinced them.
Cornet has made 41 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The 26-year-old has scored nine goals and given one assist in those games.
