Everton now taking a big gamble by waiting around for Theo Walcott

Everton have been told they will have to wait around before receiving an answer from Arsenal in their pursuit of Theo Walcott.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton will have to wait until the last minute of the transfer window to find out if they have done enough to land Theo Walcott from Arsenal.

Everton are keen on the £20 million rated Walcott, but Arsenal are said to be eager to keep hold of the attacker for most of January.

Arsenal are set to lose Alexis Sanchez, and they don’t want to offload Walcott, before a replacement arrives.

Everton may now be taking a risk by waiting for Walcott, as they could miss out on other potential targets.

The Toffees would be taking a massive gamble on Arsenal getting business done, if they are to have to wait for a response to their bid from Arsene Wenger.

Sam Allardyce is eager to add to his squad, especially in attacking areas, and Walcott now threatens to hold up any other potential transfers.

It may, therefore, make sense for Everton to assess their options rather than simply going after Walcott, as waiting around could prove very costly.
