Everton are still hunting for a new manager after sacking Ronald Koeman in October.

Everton’s search for a new manager goes on, as they are still attempting to bring in a replacement for Ronald Koeman following the Dutchman’s sacking last month.

Koeman endured a dismal start to the season and paid the price with his job, having been sacked after a 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal back in October.

Over a month on though, Everton remain in the hunt for a new boss, with caretaker Davd Unsworth still in charge, though he has endured a dismal few days, starting with a 5-1 home defeat to Atalanta.

Today, Everton were thumped 4-1 at Southampton, with more shambolic defending on show as the Toffees failed to show any signs of recovery.

Fans are growing impatient over the lack of movement for a new manager, with a deal for Watford’s Marco Silva seeming almost impossible right now – and two names have been backed heavily over the weekend.

The favourite for the job is now Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill, who is the odds-on frontrunner at 8/11 after a flurry of bets in recent days, as noted on Sky Bet.

Shanghai SIPG coach Andre Villas-Boas looks on during the AFC Champions League round of 16 football match Shanghai SIPG against Jiangsu Suning FC in Nanjing, on May 31, 2017.

O’Neill, 65, had strong spells in charge of Celtic and Aston Villa before struggling with Sunderland, though his four-year spell in charge of the Republic or Ireland has been mostly positive, putting him back in the conversation for a Premier League job.

Additionally, Shanghai SIPG boss Andre Villas-Boas has come from nowhere to emerge as the 11/2 third favourite for the job, with the Portuguese coach in the running for a return to English football.

Villas-Boas, 40, had spells in charge of Chelsea and Tottenham before heading to Zenit St. Petersburg and then to China, but a return to the Premier League could be too good to turn down for Villas-Boas if Everton do come calling – and given the cut in his odds, he is a name to watch out for.
