Everton have signed Richarlison from Watford last season, on the back of a disappointing 2018 so far.

New Everton signing Richarlison has told the club’s official website that he feels in peak condition again, following his move to Goodison Park.

Richarlison is Everton’s only signing so far this summer, with the Brazilian arriving in a big money deal from Watford.

There has been some question marks over the transfer, as the attacker’s form dipped badly in the second half of last campaign.

Richarlison was a revelation during his first few months in England, but he failed to score for Watford in 2018.

And the youngster says that dip in form is because he was so tired he could barely train properly.

“I felt fatigued before my holiday as there was a lot of training and many game,” he said. “I felt my legs were going to explode, they felt really heavy and, at times, I would hold back in training to keep some energy in reserve.

“A lot of people do not see this and sometimes when you do not perform as well as you can, that is maybe why.

“Now I am rested and fresh and I want to be an elite player here. This is a new chapter. I want to be in the national team and achieve a lot of things with Everton.”

The pressure is on Richarlison to hit the ground running at Everton, given his vast price-tag.

New Toffees boss Marco Silva was the man who got the best out of Richarlison before, and the hope is that the Portuguese boss can repeat the trick at Goodison Park.
