Arsenal want Mykhaylo Mudryk and it looks like Premier League rivals Everton now think they have been priced out of the race for his signature.

The Gunners will be top of the Premier League table at Christmas and that has given fans hope of a title charge.

Mikel Arteta may still need additions to make that happen and another winger would be ideal in January.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are shining but more depth is needed, especially with Nicolas Pepe’s move proving to be a disaster.

Arsenal want Mykhaylo Mudryk as Everton drop out

The main name in the mix is Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Arsenal had a look at the 21-year-old over the summer and may wish they had pushed for a deal then.

Mudryk’s superb Champions League campaign with Shakhtar – three goals and two assists in just six games – has catapulted him to stardom.

A winger with blistering pace who can tear you apart on the break, Mudryk has also added seven goals and six assists in 12 league games for Shakhtar.

The fight for Mudryk’s services is very much on and The Mirror claimed over the weekend that Arsenal have the framework of a deal worth £40million plus add-ons in place.

Whether that is true or not, one club who seemingly don’t think they can now sign Mudryk is Everton.

The Toffees had a real interest in Mudryk over the summer but ether couldn’t get a deal done or focused their funds elsewhere.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has now told Give Me Sport that Everton have not come back in for Mudryk ahead of the January transfer window.

Jacobs suggests that Everton feel that they have now been priced out of the race for Mudryk with Shakhtar hiking up their demands.

Everton may have pulled off a coup for Amadou Onana over the summer but they will largely struggle to compete with Arsenal for top signings.

Mudryk will now cost money that Everton likely can’t afford in January and their window of opportunity appears to be closed – possibly leading him towards Arsenal instead.
