The Roma defender would be an excellent addition for Everton.

Everton boss Marco Silva’s performance in charge at Goodison Park has been fairly underwhelming since he took over in the summer, and he will surely have to be active during the next two transfer windows, if he is to guide his side to some kind of success.
One area where the Portuguese might want to improve is his central defensive department, with his side’s tally of 31 Premier League goals conceded this term currently being the 10th worst in the entire division.
With this in mind, the Toffees should consider a move for Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas, but they might just have to wait until the summer to get their man.
According to a report from the Mirror, the 27-year-old has a £30.5 million release clause inserted into his current contract with the Serie A giants, but it will only be activated at the end of this season.
The Greece international is one of the finest defenders currently operating on the continent, and he possesses all of the attributes required to be a success in the Premier League.

Standing at just under 6ft 3in tall, Manolas is strong and commanding in the air, and he also possesses fantastic organisational and leadership skills – something that Everton have lacked in defence over the past couple of years.
The Greek is a fantastic all around defender, and whilst he is not the quickest, his excellent ability to read the game more than makes up for his lack of pace.
Marco Silva must do everything within his power to bring Manolas to Goodison Park in the summer, and if he is successful, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Everton.
