Premier League outfit Everton have been reportedly tracking Villarreal defender, Mateo Musacchio, for a while.
However, the Toffees are facing tough competition from AC Milan, and the Blues will have to act fast if they are to beat the Serie A giants to his signing.
According to reports from The Liverpool Echo, Musacchio’s representative was in Milan earlier this week to hold talks with the Serie A club.
The £15 million-rated (via The Echo) defender is one of the potential defensive targets considered by the club this summer after Ronald Koeman has asked Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh, to find him players who would bring quality and youth to the side.

Everton hierarchy have discussed about potential defensive targets in recent weeks, and Musacchio is certainly one of them.
The Argentine defender has made 22 appearances in La Liga this season for the Yellow Submarines.
He has made two tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game, according to whoscored, and is known for his excellent positional awareness.
Burnley’s Michael Keane is also a reported target, but his £25 million (Express) asking price could be a stumbling block. Plus, other heavyweight Premier League clubs would join the race for him as well.
Koeman aims to improve on the ageing Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams, and Musacchio certainly would be a top signing for the club. However, they must act quickly.
