The Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper would take Everton into the elite.
Bernd Leno
SportBild has been speaking to the German international Bernd Leno this week about his future, after he saw his name linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Leno had this to say on the matter:
“It is an honour you when you are linked with Real Madrid.
“[But] in the current situation I want to fully focus on Leverkusen.”
The report went on to claim that both Tottenham and Manchester United also had the talented German on their radar.
But it is Everton who should be doing all they can to secure his signature.
Leno, who has four caps for the senior German national team, is a top talent that could take Everton into another class in the goalkeeping department.
Joel Robles is doing a good job at present but there is no doubt that Leno would be an improvement on the Spaniard.
Leno would not come cheap but Everton need to have a top goalkeeper in their team if they are to make it into the top four under Ronald Koeman.
Everton’s Joel Robles
Leno could be the club’s number one for years to come and is worth Everton spending £20m-plus if they can convince him to leave Leverkusen for a career in the Premier League.
This is the ambitious move Everton will need to make if they are to seriously try and push on into the Premier League elite.
