Everton are reportedly monitoring Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck.

Arsenal's French manager Arsene Wenger (C) talks with striker Danny Welbeck during a training session at the club's complex in London Colney on May 2, 2018 on the eve of their UEFA Europa...

According to a report from the Times, Everton have expressed an interest in signing Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, but the Toffees should be wary of bringing the 27-year-old to Goodison Park this summer.

The Gunners forward has really struggled with form and fitness since moving to north London from Manchester United in the summer of 2014.

Welbeck has managed just 27 goals in 112 appearances for Arsenal, and with Everton’s need for an out and out goalscorer, a move for the Gunners man seems to make little sense.

The Merseyside outfit were poor on the whole last season, and their lack of a cutting edge in front of goal played a major role in their struggles.

They do already have Cenk Tosun of course, but if Marco Silva truly wants to guide his side back into contention for the European places this season, he will need to bring in an established goalscorer.

And although it may sound harsh, Welbeck is quite simply not that man.
