Norwich City starlet Jacob Murphy looks set for the Premier League – Everton, Swansea, Southampton, West Brom and Crystal Palace have all been linked.

If you’re a young player looking for a platform to showcase your potential, there are worse destinations than Everton.

Ronald Koeman’s side grew increasingly youthful as the campaign progressed, Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin becoming regular members of the starting XI. Meanwhile, director of football Steve Walsh has been handed the remit of sounding out rising stars from across the continent.

Therefore, with a number of Premier League clubs set to scrap it out for Norwich City winger Josh Murphy this summer, it would be a surprise if Everton were not front and centre.

According to The Mirror, Crystal Palace, Swansea, Southampton and West Brom are all keen on the England youth international, whose introduction off the bench inspired Aidy Boothroyd’s side to a 2-1 comeback win against Slovakia in the group-stages of the Under-21 European Championship this week.

The report claims that the £7 million-rated Murphy has four years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road but looks poised to move to the top flight this summer. Scoring ten times from the wing last season, the 22-year-old is certainly deserving of his chance.

And he would appear to fit in perfect at Everton. The Mirror claimed earlier in the season that The Toffees were tracking the progress of Murphy and his rapid development in the second half of the campaign should only have convinced the Everton chiefs that he would thrive at Goodison Park.

With Koeman proving his commitment to giving youth a chance at both Everton and former club Southampton, Murphy would know that he could become a prominent member of the first team sooner rather than later.
