Everton want Mohammed Kudus and the Ajax midfielder is seemingly trying to force through a late move to Goodison Park.

The Toffees are being linked with a whole host of players ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Even after signing Amadou Onana earlier this summer, Everton remain in the hunt for midfield additions.

Idrissa Gueye and James Garner are being heavily linked as Frank Lampard looks to re-tool his engine room.

Yet there could still be room for a more attack-minded midfielder – and Ajax ace Kudus has been a key target.

Everton want Mohammed Kudus

Reports earlier this month suggested that Everton were signing Ajax talent Kudus on loan with an option to buy.

Yet the days passed with no deal done and The Times then suggested that there were problems during talks with Ajax.

The Mirror then suggested that Ajax didn’t want to lose both Antony and Kudus in the same window.

Antony is on his way to Manchester United but Kudus isn’t giving up hope of becoming an Everton player.

Voetbal International in the Netherlands report that Kudus wants to leave and even missed training today as he seeks a late move.

Everton have allegedly been trying to sign Kudus for ‘a few weeks’ and he wants to make the move to the Premier League.

Ajax still don’t want to let Kudus go and they will now have to decide whether to stand firm or let a disgruntled player leave.

Kudus, 22, is a hugely talented attacking midfielder with impressive speed and dribbling ability.

Hailed as ‘really special’ by Dutch striker Tom van Weert, Kudus has been backed for a huge future.

Signed from Nordsjaelland in 2020, Kudus impressed for Ajax in the 2020-21 season, bagging four goals and three assists in 17 league games.

Yet having played just 411 minutes of league action last season – and just 29 so far this season – Kudus seemingly feels that he needs to leave Amsterdam.

Everton would be more than happy to take him in, but face a wait to hear whether Ajax are finally willing to let the midfielder go.
