Idrissa Gueye has posted on Everton’s Instagram ‘good luck lil bro’ after Anthony Gordon secured a transfer to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Everton fans have known about it for a while, but Gordon, who was the subject of heavy transfer interest in the summer, has headed for the exit door.
From a relegation battle with his boyhood club to joining a team pushing for Champions League football, it’s some turnaround for the 21-year-old.

It’s been suggested that Newcastle have paid £45 million for the winger’s talents (BBC Sport), who has struggled for form this season scoring only three goals.
But that’s because he has been deep in a relegation mire and playing for a team that recently sacked their manager – Frank Lampard, who is expected to be replaced by Sean Dyche.
Nonetheless, when Everton posted on their IG about Gordon’s exit, in the comments section, Idrissa Gueye posted ‘Good luck lil bro’ added with a teary-eye emoji
GORDON SHOULD LOOK TOWARDS ALMIRON
Given Gordon’s struggles this season, many would question why the Magpies would push for a player of his current qualities.
But this is Eddie Howe’s terrority and this is where he will be hoping to prove his worth once more.
Gordon has the ability to become a goalscoring wide man, and just like a certain Miguel Almiron, the Englishman will be hoping to make the same strides and improvements as the much-improved Paraguayan.
