Gerard Deulofeu has been in wonderful form for Everton so far this season.
Gareth Barry has told the Daily Mail that Gerard Deulofeu has returned to Everton with a new trick up his sleeve.
Deulofeu played alongside Barry at Goodison Park during the 2013/14 season, where he showed signs of promise.
However, after one season away, Deulofeu returned to Everton on a permanent deal during the summer transfer window – and Barry has spotted a vast improvement in the winger.
The England international claims that Deulofeu has added a new crossing style to his game, and that it has helped the Spanish winger become even more creative.
“He’s come back with a new style of how to cross a ball,” Barry said. “He never had that in the first year. He always wanted to get down the line and beat a player. Now he is seeing the full back step up and he is delivering balls at angles that Rom is feeding off.”
Deulofeu has been one of Everton’s star players over the season so far, and he is now playing a key role for Roberto Martinez’s first team.
The 21-year-old has forced his way into the Toffees’ starting line-up, and he showed his class in Everton’s most recent match.
Deulofeu was in top form as Everton beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in midweek to book their place in the Capital One Cup semi-finals.
The Toffees’ next match comes against Crystal Palace, and a win could take them up as high as sixth in the Premier League table.
