Everton have been linked with James Maddison of Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

James Maddison is one of the best young players in the Championship, and there is little surprise that Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are among the clubs linked with the Norwich City attacking midfielder.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City, Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion all are interested in signing Maddison, who is reported to be valued at £30 million and is claimed to earn £13,000 per week as salary.

Everton are also reported to have the 21-year-old on their radar, and the Toffees may hold an advantage over the rivals due to the player’s inclination to join a club where he would get regular first-team football.

“Maddison’s preference would ideally be to join a club where he has a realistic chance of regular first team football,” states a report in The Telegraph.

Tottenham and Arsenal are massive clubs, but Maddison would struggle to break into their starting lineups rightaway.

The youngster may not even make the substitutes’ bench at City, while Southampton could find themselves in the Championship next season and Brighton could be struggling for survival in the Premier League.

Everton do appear to be the perfect choice for Maddison. Not only would the England Under-21 international attacking midfielder stand a better chance of playing regularly at Goodison Park, but he would also be joining an ambitious club who want to establish themselves among the Premier League’s elite in the coming years.

Maddison would be wise to choose Everton as the next step in his career.
