Everton are reportedly looking to sell midfielder Allan – and Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri would gladly take him to the Italian capital.

Reports from The Sun over the weekend suggested that Everton were ready to let Allan leave the club at the end of the season.

With Everton needing to trim their wage bill, getting rid of £70,000-a-week midfielder Allan would certainly help.

The problem with any situation like this is finding a taker for unwanted players – especially those on the wrong side of 30 like Allan.

Everton certainly won’t want Allan sitting through the final year of his contract and would love to offload him this summer.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport now report that Maurizio Sarri has asked Lazio to bring Allan to the Stadio Olympic this summer.

Sarri is keen to bolster his midfield options with Lucas Leiva now 35 and Allan is seen as the man who can help Lazio.

This maybe shouldn’t be a huge surprise given that Sarri signed Allan for Napoli from Udinese back in the summer of 2015.

Allan was one of Sarri’s first signings and played a vital role in his 4-3-3 setup before then shining under Carlo Ancelotti too.

Ancelotti brought Allan to Everton but it seems that Frank Lampard is planning for life at Everton without the Brazilian midfielder.

Allan’s red card against Newcastle last month likely didn’t help, with a rash challenge putting Everton in danger of losing a key victory.

Lampard could end up selling Allan to Sarri, the man he replaced as Chelsea manager in 2019; strange how football works sometimes.

Don’t expect a huge fee for the 31-year-old, but you can absolutely expect to see more Everton players being linked with summer exits – no matter whether they stay in the Premier League or not.
