Everton fancy signing Atletico Madrid attacker Matheus Cunha, a player who has been likened to Liverpool star Roberto Firmino.
The Toffees spent most of the summer chasing attacking additions and did manage to bring in Brighton and Hove Albion striker Neal Maupay.
The Frenchman has only scored once in 10 league games for Everton though and goals remain a major concern for Frank Lampard and the Everton fanbase.
Everton may need to dip back into the market for another striker in January but one target appears to be slipping away.

Everton want Matheus Cunha
Relevo in Spain report that Everton have made contact to try and sign Atletico Madrid attacker Matheus Cunha.
Leeds United have asked about Cunha too but the Brazilian is on the verge of signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers instead.
Julen Lopetegui is closing in on making Cunha his first signing as Wolves boss, with 90Min claiming that he wants to work with the Spaniard.
This is a blow for Everton, who will now seemingly have to cross Cunha off their list of potential signings in January.
Cunha has been enduring a tough time with Atletico this season, starting just two La Liga games this season, failing to score.
Add in no Champions League starts and just 117 minutes of action across five substitute appearances and it’s clearly time for Cunha to leave Atletico.
When at his best – as we saw at Hertha Berlin – Cunha is quick, skilful and a very good presser.
We have also seen Cunha drop into deeper roles, more like a number 10 or false nine rather than a pure striker – and that has resulted in a lofty comparison.
The official Bundesliga website compared Cunha to Roberto Firmino – the man who has been key to Liverpool’s pressing approach for years.
Cunha could have been Everton’s very own version of Firmino, giving Toffees fans a Brazilian attacker to love just as Liverpool fans love Firmino.
It sadly looks like this just isn’t going to be for Everton though and if Cunha can make an impact at Wolves anything like Firmino has at Wolves, the Toffees will be absolutely gutted.
