Everton have made a bid for Hugo Ekitike in the hope of bringing the Paris Saint-Germain attacker to Goodison Park.

Hugo Ekitike has emerged as a key target for Everton have been told he is fre to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that Everton have lodged an offer to bring Ekitike to Merseyside.

It’s stated that PSG are considering the offer just a year since signing Ekitike for €35million last summer.

Ekitike only started 12 league games last season and came off the bench 13 times, registering three goals and four assists.

The 21-year-old was a real sensation with Reims but the move to PSG may have come a little early for him.

PSG are ready to offload Ekitike and RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins claims that Ekitike is one of five players who have been told they are not part of Luis Enrique’s plans.

Marco Verratti, Juan Bernat, Renato Sanches and even Neymar have joined Ekitike with Enrique keen to get rid.

Everton are now hoping to pounce even with Sporting striker Youssef Chermiti with Sean Dyche keen to land another tall striker.

Hugo Ekitike rejected Newcastle United last year

Ekitike was so highly-rated at Reims, scoring 10 times in 24 games last season to attract major interest.

The 6ft 2in forward is a little gangly but confident on the ball and has pace to trouble defenders, so Dyche may believe that he can do something with the Frenchman.

Branded ‘very special’ by his former Reims manager Oscar Garcia, Ekitike seemed Premier League-bound with Newcastle United.

L’Equipe reported that Newcastle agreed a deal to sign Ekitike in January 2022 but that deal ended up falling through as the striker snubbed the move.

Newcastle were back in for Ekitike in the summer of 2022 though as The Telegraph reported that the Magpies had again struck a deal with Reims.

Ekitike preferred PSG though and decided to join the Ligue 1 champions rather than head to Tyneside.

The Magpies seem to have moved on now but Everton are now looking to finally bring Ekitike to the Premier League this month.
