The Toffees man, currently away from Goodison Park on loan, didn’t like the Reds attacker’s performance on the night.
Everton defender Luke Garbutt has criticised the performance of Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah in Wednesday night’s Champions League win over Red Bull Salzburg.
The Reds forward may not have been up to his normally sky-high standards on the night but he nonetheless claimed a brace on a difficult European night at Anfield.
Salah’s first came on 36 minutes, slotting home underneath keeper Cican Stanokovic, and helped establish a three-goal lead which appeared insurmountable – at first glance anyway.
However, the visitors rallied round through Hwang Hee-chan, Takumi Minamino and substitute Erling Braut Haaland to leave Liverpool and their fans shellshocked.
Salah duly stepped up to score what turned out to be the winner on 69 minutes, latching on to Roberto Firmino’s header and netting with a fierce strike to save the day.
Nonetheless, Garbutt – currently on loan at Ipswich Town – did not seem to agree with former Wigan Athletic team-mate Craig Davies, now at Mansfield Town, suggesting Salah deserved some of the criticism coming his way after the game:
