The Toffees’ tweet suggested Digne and family have welcomed a new arrival into the world.
Lucas Digne has very much become a fan favourite at Everton, making the left-back position his own since his £18million move (BBC Sport) from Barcelona to the Premier League club in the summer of 2018.
The France international has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees this term, including 27 Premier League starts and a tally of three goals and four assists in the league, according to Transfermarkt.
As well as impressing at Everton and winning the love of the Blues faithful, it appears as though Digne has had some more great news this week, namely welcoming a new family member into the world.
The Toffees Twitter channel sent their congratulations to their player with a creative and heartfelt post, translated from French as “our congratulations, Lucas Digne and family”:
Digne responded to the tweet by writing “thank you”:

Earlier this week, Digne admitted to France Football that he rejected the chance to join Liverpool twice as his career trajectory prior to Everton took him to Paris Saint-Germain and then Barca.
The 25-year-old also stressed that his “I’ll Never Walk Alone” tattoo on his chest, which at first glance could be mistaken for a reference to the Gerry and the Pacemakers song “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, famously adopted by the Liverpool fanbase, is in fact nothing of the sort and is actually a tribute to his parents.
