The Everton winger suffered an injury while playing for his loan club Anderlecht.

Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru could be out for a shorter period than was initially feared after the forward revealed that he doesn’t require surgery on his knee injury.
Onyekuru suffered the injury while playing for Anderlecht against Eupen last week and there were concerns that the Nigeria international could be ruled out for the rest of the season and possibly miss next summer’s World Cup.
However, there is now hope that Onyekuru could instead be back in action within six weeks.

As reported by All Africa, Onyekuru said: “Everton called for me to come back. They saw the picture of the MRI and they said I won’t need surgery. So hopefully, I will just go through the treatment and won’t need it.”
Usually deployed as a winger, Onyekuru has scored nine goals in 19 league appearances for Anderlecht so far this season.

There is a possibility that the prospect could link up with the Everton first-team squad next campaign if he is able to earn a work permit, but for now his focus is on recovering from injury and hopefully being able to make a major impact for Anderlecht later in the season.
The chance of still being able to feature at the World Cup for Nigeria, for whom he made his senior debut last summer, must surely give Onyekuru an incentive to do all that he can to get fit.
