Everton loanee Nikola Vlasic has earned CSKA Moscow’s Player of the Month award after shining throughout October for the Russian giants.

The 21-year-old scored two goals and created another two assists during his five league and cup appearances throughout September, including a goal and an assist in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen.

He then continued his excellent form for CSKA on Tuesday night, finding the back of the net with a calm finish as his side produced one of the most surprising results of the Champions League so far – a 1-0 win over Real Madrid.

CSKA confirmed on their official website that their new number eight, who is on loan until the end of the season, had won the Player of the Month award with 44 per cent of the vote – over Igor Akinfeev and Feder Chalov.

Vlasic left Everton to join CSKA midway through August, after falling down the pecking order following Marco Silva’s decision to bring in Richarlison and Bernard – as well as the return of Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig.

Following his £8million move to Everton from Hajduk Split last year, Vlasic only managed to play 19 times for the Merseyside outfit last season but still has four years left on his contract at Goodison Park.
