Everton are believed to be searching for a new striker in the January transfer window.

Everton are said to have posted scouts as Dortmund’s Champions League match against Real Madrid, which takes place tomorrow evening, with the Gabon international striker the man in focus.
Aubameyang looks set to leave Dortmund in the near future, with the forward keen to test himself elsewhere.

Aubameyang is one of the most sought after strikers in Europe, and for Everton to even be considering making a move shows great ambition, but there must be questions over whether a deal would be possible.
Aubameyang is likely to want Champions League football, and he is almost certain to attract the attentions of some of the big-hitters in European football.

Everton simply cannot offer him that, and with Sam Allardyce’s side currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League table, they are hardly the most appealing option for the rapid forward to take.
Of course, if Everton were able to bring in Aubameyang it would be the most remarkable transfer they have made in recent memory, but the deal looks highly unlikely – and the Toffees would be wise to have a back-up plan in place.
