Rangers appear to be in a strong position to land AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen amid claims Everton fancy him.

AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen has been linked with a move to Everton but he could instead join Rangers.

The pressure eased on Sean Dyche for just a few days after Everton’s impressive away win at Brentford.

The Toffees just couldn’t gain any momentum though as Luton Town rolled into Goodison Park and snatched a 2-1 win.

Dyche is back under pressure once again and Everton will need some consistent results in order to believe in the former Burnley boss for the long haul.

Everton may even have some potential replacements in mind with AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen thought to be a top target.

TEAMtalk reported last week that Everton have joined Crystal Palace and Rangers in the hunt for Jansen.

It was a fascinating rumour; Jansen was born in London to two musicians but chose to move into football.

The Dutchman worked alongside Arne Slot at AZ before taking the top job following Slot’s move to Feyenoord.

Jansen guided AZ to the Europa Conference League semi-final last season and now has AZ sitting second in the Eredivisie table, dropping just two points.

Jansen appears to be a real rising talent as a manager but Everton could see him head elsewhere very soon.

Rangers targeting deal for Everton-linked Jansen

TEAMtalk appear to have been onto something as the links surrounding Jansen to Rangers are accelerating.

TalkSPORT claim that Jansen is now keen on becoming the new Rangers manager.

The Gers sacked Michael Beale on Sunday night and are now looking to bring a replacement to Ibrox.

Jansen is now emerging as a real contender for Rangers and his interest in the job may mean that the Gers ramp up their interest very soon.

Rangers will no doubt be aware of Premier League interest in Jansen too and may be looking to get him secured as soon as possible.

Everton aren’t looking to make a change right now but one of their preferred options to replace Dyche could be off the market before they even get chance to make a move.
