Everton legend Tim Cahill has praised Liverpool on Twitter, despite their failure to the win the Premier League title.

Some Everton fans were celebrating yesterday, as Manchester City beat Brighton & Hove Albion to ensure that Liverpool didn’t win the Premier League for the first time.

But Everton great Cahill was far more magnanimous than many Blues supporters on Twitter with his message.

Liverpool have indeed enjoyed an excellent season, after collecting 97 points.

Jurgen Klopp’s side just couldn’t hang on to their lead in the title race, with City winning their last 14 matches on the bounce.
