Duncan Ferguson has said it would be ‘a dream’ to one day manage the club where he is adored. Although, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Duncan Ferguson has claimed he would love to manage Everton one day in an interview with Sky Sports on Tuesday morning.
Ferguson is currently a coach at Goodison Park. He has worked under both Ronald Koeman and former manager Roberto Martinez. The Scotsman is idolised by the blue half of Merseyside after scoring 72 goals in his two spells at Everton. His record is particularly impressive against two of the club’s main rivals, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Speaking to Sky Sports about his current role, Ferguson said: ”It’s a fantastic job and I’m at the best club in the world.”
He was then pushed for an answer on whether he would like to be at the helm of Everton one day, to which he replied: ”Everybody dreams of being the Everton manager and I am no different from anyone else.”
”But of course we have a fantastic manager at the moment and I hope that continues and he stays here for a very long time.”
It looks like Everton will not be changing manager in the near future. Ronald Koeman has led the Toffee’s on a remarkable run, much to the worry of many across Stanley Park.
Ex-Liverpool defender and boyhood Evertonian Jamie Carragher was also at Finch Farm on Tuesday and he admitted that he is worried Everton could potentially overtake Liverpool, given both side’s recent results.
The Toffees face Tottenham, unbeaten at White Hart Lane, this weekend in what will be an indicator of just how far they have come under Koeman. It will see a match up between two of the most exciting attacking talents in the division, with Harry Kane taking on Romelu Lukaku, surely Ferguson’s successor as top Premier League goalscorer for Everton.
