Everton are now sneaking ahead of Leeds United in the race to sign Birmingham City talent George Hall ahead of the January transfer window.
That’s according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, who claims that Everton are now moving ahead of Leeds in the battle for Hall.
It’s stated that Birmingham may decide to sell Hall in January in order to bring in some cash for manager John Eustace.
That matches what the Daily Mail reported in November, as they suggested that the Blues would sell Hall to try and sign Dion Sanderson permanently.
Hall is considered to be one of Birmingham’s top talents; maybe not quite at the level of Jude Bellingham before his 2020 exit but still highly rated.
Yet with just five Championship starts this season, it’s starting to feel like Hall is being primed for a January move away from St Andrews.
Everton are allegedly ‘poised to make their move’ for Hall, seemingly believing that they can now swoop in and sign Hall ahead of Leeds.

Hall to Everton would be tough for Leeds to swallow
This would be absolutely gutting for Leeds and Victor Orta if such a deal materialises.
Leeds have been chasing Hall for some time now and it feels like their interest is rumoured ahead of every transfer window at this point.
The Sun reported in November that Leeds were at the front of the queue for Hall’s signature.
The Daily Mail claimed similar before the summer window but no deal materialised.
Going back even further, the Mail reported in November 2021 that Leeds were targeting a deal for Hall in January 2022; again, nothing materialised.
TEAMtalk have even suggested that Leeds are closing in on Hall having done so much groundwork for a deal.
It now looks like Leeds chasing Hall for so long could now end in heartbreak with Everton pushing to beat them.
The 18-year-old has been branded ‘fantastic’ by boss Eustace, and we could end up seeing him learn and develop under Frank Lampard rather than under Jesse Marsch.
