Frank Lampard’s Everton are keener on signing Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City than Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported that Everton are the side ‘keenest’ on signing Zinchenko in the summer transfer window.

The Times have reported interest from Arsenal in the Ukraine international, but The Athletic’s claim suggests that the Toffees are more determined than the Gunners to secure the services of the £59,000-a-week (SalarySport) star.

Zinchenko is a central midfielder by trade, but Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has played the 25-year-old at left-back.

The former Ufa star is also able to play as a left wing-back.

Arsenal or Everton for Oleksandr Zinchenko?

In our view, Arsenal would be more appealing than Everton to Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Everton narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season, while Arsenal qualified for the Europa League.

The Gunners will be aiming for the Premier League top four next season.

Now, Keiran Tierney is the first-choice left-back at Arsenal, but Zinchenko could be back playing in midfield for the Gunners.

Zinchenko has made 76 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

During his time at City so far, the Ukraine international has won the Premier League title four times, the FA Cup once, and the EFL Cup on four occasions.
